"Equipping, Empowering, and Encouraging our Leaders"

We had an amazing turnout for our annual Ministry Leader Workshop equipping, empowering, and encouraging our leaders and other ministry partners. Yiorgos Pangiotopoulos, one of our ministry leaders at City Life, led our devotional time together from Psalm 34. We were reminded that to abide in God is for your good and for His glory! Please take a moment to pause and think through the promises, presence, and power of God in these verses: “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!

    "Praying for Kingdom Purposes"

Please continue to pray and to give thanks for the opportunity we have to be on the campuses of every middle and high school in Highlands County! Bobby D and Mama Mel have already launched Campus Life in Avon Park and Lake Placid and we are looking forward to bringing authentic Christ-centered relationships to the rest of the campuses within the next couple of weeks! I would also ask for your continued prayers for all of our leaders that are entering into the spiritual battles raging on our school campuses that they would be followers of Jesus first, they will continue to be formed into the likeness of Christ, and that they continue to pursue and use their gifts from God for His Kingdom purposes! Also, remember our teachers and students need you prayers.

"Making BIG Decisions to Follow God"

We finished our summer taking 20 middle school students and leaders to camp. God helped me overcome my fear... I made a BIG decision to follow God and not to be scared of the amazing stuff he has waiting for me. (13-year-old girl) God made me a big believer in Jesus because of some of the amazing leaders. I also said “Yes” to Jesus being in my life. (14-year-old boy) My favorite part of camp was club time...where we worshipped God and learned about Him. I said “Yes, again” to Jesus because I have gotten far from him. (14-year-old boy) This summer 9 students said “Yes” to Jesus in their life for the very first time, 11 said “Yes, again” to rededicating their lives to Jesus, and 5 are still on their journey. Please continue to pray for these amazing young people who are on their journey with Jesus.

    Building Authentic Relationships

Highlands County YFC reaches young people in our community, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the Word of God, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement. YFC has been in Highlands County since 1998. We are actively involved in every middle and high school in the county. Every day at thousands of community centers, high schools, middle schools, juvenile institutions, coffee shops, and local hangouts, YFC staff and volunteers meet with young people who need Jesus. We are rural and urban and we are always about the message of Jesus. Please pray for our team leaders, schools, teachers, donors, and students as we saturate our community with the Gospel hope of Jesus Christ!
